This is an opportunity to learn mastery of the emotional body; to own what is ours, to be aware of what is not and to harness and empower our own energetic frequencies. With the following suggestions you can learn how to balance your emotional resonance with Spiritual Sovereignty.
Something to Note as you begin - I can't stress enough the importance of conscious intention and presence when working with energy. Continue to strengthen your presence and intentions when doing any kind of energy work.
(In the below we discuss rituals, I want to remind you how rituals can be a powerful practice and tool. In a previous blog, "The Power in Ritual", I explained the true meaning, purpose and effects of rituals, check that out for additional insights and wisdoms that can bring this blog full circle for you!).
RITUALS

Start each ritual with intention; be focused and present in the moment. Starting off with the goal in mind and taking the act seriously is key to effectiveness and felt results. Also consider welcoming your Guides, Protectors and Teachers; they are always there to help and assist you. To close off a ritual offer gratitude.
1. Morning Grounding Ritual
Upon waking, place a hand on your heart and another on your solar plexus (right below your chest).
Say: “All that is mine, I welcome home to me. All that is not mine, I release with love.”
Visualize golden and red roots extending into the earth from your tailbone and/or the bottom of your feet (e.g. your Root Chakras); breathe in from the earth, exhale the emotional static - be aware of the rise and fall of your breath as you do this.
2. Evening Energy Purification
Salt or Epsom bath: You can add baking soda, rosemary, ginger, or lavender oil. Stay present in this bath, take conscious breaths and visualize the release of external energies.
As the water drains, say: “All energies that are not aligned with my Highest Good return to their source.”
Follow with body oiling or moisturizing—symbolically sealing your aura.
3. Cord-Cutting / Energy Detachment
(To be used when you are aware of the specific person that may be energetically effecting you)
Visualize a golden sword or flame dissolving cords between you and another person (without resentment).
Say: “I honor what was shared. I now release you and reclaim my energy.”
4. Journaling for Emotional Discernment
Divide a page into two columns: “Mine” and “Not Mine.”
Note what feelings or sensations feel foreign or amplified within you.
Try to categorize these feelings according to the two columns. (For example if someone is upset with, yet you somehow end up feeling upset or worried, ask yourself is that energy really yours?) Think back to what may have triggered the emotions if you ever feel stuck in trying to discern which is which.
5. Weekly Cleansing of the Home
Burn sage, cedar, or use sound cleansing (bells, chimes).
Open windows—let air circulate.
Finish by placing fresh flowers or water as an offering to peace.
ENERGETIC & SOMATIC PRACTICES

1. Shielding Visualization
Envision an orb of light (choose a color that feels empowering—gold, violet, white, or emerald).
This orb is permeable to love and truth but impermeable to manipulation, envy, or projection.
Refresh this shield before entering public spaces.
2. Chakra Balancing
Focus on strengthening the solar plexus (Manipura)—your center of personal will and discernment.
Practices: core breathing, candle meditation, affirmations like “My will is my own.”
3. Breathwork for Overstimulation
Breath anchors awareness back to your own body and rebalances energy exchange and reclaims your own energetic frequencies.
Practice box breathing (4 second inhale-4 second holding of breath -4 second release of breath - 4 second hold) or alternate nostril breathing to calm overstimulation.
4. Somatic Release
For re-stimulating the physical body within it's own energetic frequency
After emotionally intense interactions, shake out your limbs or dance freely for a few minutes.
This prevents foreign energy from “crystallizing” in the body.
5. Nature Immersion
Walk barefoot on grass or sit with your back to a tree. Trees act as energetic transmuters—absorbing excess emotion and grounding your field.
WAYS OF BEING (Long-Term Integration)

1. Emotional Sovereignty
Practice saying internally: “I feel this, but it may not be mine.”
This creates a pause—space between stimulus and internalization.
2. Radical Self-Compassion
Treat your empathy as strength, and view it as power through sensitivity, not weakness. You are not wrong for being sensitive, in fact you are powerful for being able to sense your environment and the feelings of others. This is often the mark of the greatest of healers.
Remain compassionate towards yourself and make conscious effort (through journaling or visualizations) to talk to yourself with kind and loving words and tone. Our own self-criticisms can increase the probability of absorbing external negative frequencies. Compassion towards Self is a powerful healing balm.
3. Conscious Relationships
Surround yourself with people who respect your emotional boundaries.
Develop a stronger and more compassionate relationship with Self as you would with another; be supportive, patient and understanding and accept your own uniqueness and feelings.
4. Energy Budgeting
Just as with money, limit emotional “spending.”
Ask before saying yes: “Do I have the energy to give this freely?”
5. Sacred Solitude
Schedule solitude not as isolation, but as recalibration.
Silence, meditation, and gentle music are allies to rebuild your inner resonance.
6. Ritual of Saying No
Practice saying “No, thank you” as a spiritual act of self-preservation - but do so from a place where you, yourself, are not judging or fearing the repercussions of your "No"
We can sometimes conflate kindness with compliance—true compassion includes boundaries.
Allow your kindness to come from your Truth, not from compliance or pressure to conform and be liked.
OPTIONAL ADVANCED PRACTICE

1. Aura Combing / Reiki Sweeping
Gently sweep hands 3–6 inches above your body to smooth your auric field after tension or emotional spikes.
Visualize static clearing as golden dust falling away from your body.
2. Moon Cycle Reflection
New Moons: set intentions for emotional sovereignty and welcome new positive cycles of empowerment, balance and integration
Full Moons: release empathic imprints that aren’t yours.
3. Ancestral and Lineage Work
We all often carry generational sensitivity. Working with ancestors consciously (through prayer, journaling, or altar offerings) helps you differentiate inherited emotional weight from your own.
4. Shadow Integration
Recognize where “helping” others becomes a means of avoiding your own discomfort.
True power arises from holding compassion and accountability simultaneously
